If you’re looking to watch a quality Disney movie, then look no further than this article! This list compiles the five best Disney movies in my opinion per decade. Be sure to read the descriptions for the top movie in each category!

1930-1939

1. Snow White and the Seven Dwarves (1937)
The only Disney movie produced in this time period, this is also Disney’s first feature-length film. The title character, Snow White, faces many challenges throughout her movie, and it’s very entertaining to see how she faces them!

1940-1949

5. Bambi (1942)

4. Fantasia (1940)

3. Song of the South (1946)

2. Pinocchio (1940)

1. Dumbo (1941)
Dumbo is a very sweet and touching movie about an elephant with exceptionally large ears. You’ll cry several times during the movie, and its message will stay with you.

1950-1959

5. Sleeping Beauty (1959)

4. Alice in Wonderland (1951)

3. Lady and the Tramp (1955)

2. Cinderella (1950)

1. Peter Pan (1953)
If you’re looking to laugh, then be sure to watch Peter Pan. Follow the story of John, Michael, and Wendy Darling as they have adventures in Neverland, this movie will keep you in stitches!

1960-1969

5. One Hundred One Dalmatians (1961)

4. The Parent Trap (1961)

3. Mary Poppins (1964)

2. Jungle Book (1967)

1. Sword in the Stone (1963)
Sword in the Stone is a much-underrated Disney movie, but is still one of the greatest. The movie is about Arthur, who, with the help of a wizard named Merlin, tries to find his true potential in a medieval England setting.

1970-1979

5. The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (1977)

4. The Aristocats (1970)

3. Bedknobs and Broomsticks (1971)

2. Pete’s Dragon (1977)

1. The Muppet Movie (1979)
If you like the new Muppet movies, then you’ll need to watch this first-ever feature length movie. It’s every bit as funny as one would expect, and it is great for the whole family!

1980-1989

5. The Brave Little Toaster (1987)

4. The Black Cauldron (1985)

3. The Fox and the Hound (1981)

2. The Great Mouse Detective (1986)

1. The Little Mermaid (1989)
The Little Mermaid is a Disney classic. You will be tapping yoru feet to the musical numbers such as Part Of Your World and Under the Sea, the whole movie.

1990-1999

5. The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)

4. Beauty and the Beast (1991)

3. Toy Story (1995)

2. Aladdin (1992)

1. The Lion King (1994)
The Lion King is a heartwarming, family-friendly movie about Simba, and the challenges he faces throughout his life. The show stopping Circle of Life makes this is another Disney movie that has definitely earned the number one spot!

2000-2009

5. Tinker Bell (2008)

4. The Incredibles (2004)

3. Meet the Robinsons (2007)

2. Monsters, Inc (2001)

1. The Princess and the Frog (2009)
The Princess and the Frog is a modern take on a famous story. Set in 1920’s New Orleans, it centers on Tiana, who isn’t your average Disney princess. Packed with humor and jazz inspired music, this movie is a must-see!

2010-Today

5. Muppets: Most Wanted (2014)

4. Monster’s University (2013)

3. Tangled (2010)

2. Frozen (2013)

1. Wreck-It Ralph (2012)
Wreck-It Ralph is a movie that cannot be explained in a paragraph. While on the surface it seems to be a movie about videogames, it goes so much deeper. If you haven’t seen it yet, go watch this movie. It’s definitely worth it!
