We’ve all been there. Sitting, blankly staring at a wall, not knowing what to do. I think boredom is awful. But sometimes it’s inescapable. However, other times, your brain just needs a little boost to figure out what you want to do. This is precisely why I came up with a list of fun things to do!

1. Draw your surroundings!

Whether you’re an artist or not, it’s always fun to draw from life. You can draw a sibling, a bird outside, or even the room where you are sitting!

2. Watch a new T.V. show!

Ask your friends or family to recommend some T.V. shows and start watching. This is also a good way to get to know your friends’ and family’s interests!

3. Bake something with your family!

It’s always nice to have some family-bonding, plus you can get some delicious treats with it too! Just go online or look through a cookbook and find a recipe that looks like fun!

4. Write a song!

Of course, no one has to hear it, but I think songwriting is a really fun way to express your feelings and boost your creativity. If you or a family member plays an instrument, get them to help!

5. Find a pen pal!

Ask a friend if they want to be your pen pal. Writing to a pen pal is a fun way to get to know your friends. it’s also exciting to get a letter addressed to you in the mailbox!

6. Listen to a podcast!

There are a lot of good podcasts out there. You can listen to a podcast about anything from true-crime to baking. I think podcasts are a fun way to learn something new.

7. Play a game!

Whether it’s a video game or a board game, I think games are a really fun activity. Ask your family to play with you!

8. Learn a new language!

You can download a language app, and add to your skill set! If you parents speak another language, ask them to teach you new words.

9. Read your favorite book from your childhood.

I think it’s fun to look back at cool things from when I was younger. Why not do it by reading your favorite book from when you were little?

10. Build a fort!

Let’s face it. You’re never too old for a pillow fort. Gather some materials and make your own cozy hide-away!

Those are my tips for avoiding boredom. Good luck! And above all, have fun!
