You have maybe heard of some big events that happened in May of 2022. Well, have you heard the words Met Gala? The theme this year continued from last year which is “America: An Anthology of Fashion” Lots of celebrities have put their creativity to the test! Today, I will be rating some known celebrities’ Met Gala outfits based on the theme.
First up, is Kylie Jenner. She wore a wedding-like dress with a baseball cap that a veil was attached to. She also has the off white logo on her chest. The reason she picked this off-white themed dress is because the brand's owner passed away in November of 2021. She wanted to wear this as a tribute. It was a stunning dress, and I really enjoyed how she made a tribute to the owner. I also like the baseball cap detail. Baseball is a national sport in the United States, so this was a great touch with the theme. Overall, it was a beautiful dress and she looked very nice.

Next up on the list is Winnie Harlow! Her dress was a white mini dress that had a humongous flower on the front and back, but her headpiece tops that. It was made out of a glass body with gold detailing. Her shoes were also white pointy heels which brought the look together. She also wore almost $1,000,000 (1M) in diamonds on her bracelet and rings! This was a very creative dress, and it was amazing. I am confused on how it resembles the theme, but other than that, it was such a pretty dress.

Lastly is Blake Lively. She first wore a very pretty coral-ish dress. It had crystal embroidering on the top and long opaque gloves that match the dress! Then, she transformed on the carpet into a teal dress and gloves. Her hair was very simplistic (but formal) and went with the dress very nicely. Blake Lively herself said the inspiration behind the dress was that because New York is a very important place in her life so she wanted to resemble the statue of liberty. First, the statue of Liberty was copper (the color her dress was before she transformed) then it turned into this teal color (oxidized copper) and that’s the color that her dress changed into. She said, “Instead of me performing, I wanted the dress to perform.” That definitely worked because this dress was beautiful. I loved this and this dress was easily my favorite.

I love the Met Gala and it is one of my favorite events of the year. Although I only rated three, there were many more amazing looks there!
