Preparing for an 8th formal was a once in a lifetime experience!
In this article I explain my experience at my 8th grade dance on May 18, 2018.
I started my morning off with a Moving On Ceremony for out eight grade class of 2022. The ceremony lasted for about two hours. After that most kids who were going to the dance left school with their parents.
My first stop was the hair salon. A stylist straightened my hair and added some curls to the ends.
Next I went for some Thai food.
Later I had my eyebrows shaped and arched.
The most important part for me was being able to have my makeup done. The makeup took between one and two hours.
Finally, after hair and makeup, I went home to change into my outfit. I wore a gold and black dress with black suede shoes. For my jewelry I wore a bracelet that said, “Just a Girl Boss Building Her Empire.”
The dance started at 6 p.m. sharp. I later arrived around 6:30pm to take pictures with my friends. I took several pictures with friends.

After photos, we enjoyed light refreshments. We had chicken tenders, thin cut pizza, water, juice and a sundae bar.
At the dance, there were big round tables with plenty of chairs for all my friends to sit. Throughout the night I danced, ate and chatted with some of my close friends.
Near the end of the dance, the dance organizers announced the king and queen of the school. They also announced the most athletic, the best dressed, the person with the most school spirit, and lastly the classmate most likely to succeed. After the announcements we exited the conference center for our parents to pick us up.
My friends and I didn’t want the night to end so we went to Steak N Shake for some burgers and milkshakes.
My eighth grade dance was night that I will always remember.
